Justice For Familiesprovides support to impacted individuals and their families who have been affected by the criminal justice system.
We give families a compassionate and powerful platform for their voices and for people around the country to be moved by these heart-wrenching stories.
Our network lets families connect with others who are going through similar experiences.
JUSTICE FOR FAMILIES campaigns raise public awareness and financial resources to help families stay together and persevere.
Too many American parents are separated from their children due to errors in law enforcement, government regulations, and protocols, especially regarding deportation and prison terms. Too many American children are subjected to a bleak future from the beginning of their lives. They deserve better. We deserve better. Our country deserves better.
Through our campaigns, families can ask for specific help from supporters. Examples include financial assistance for medical needs, food, bail and attorney’s fees, educational support, shelter expenses, and clothing. Through assigned specific items, supporters can be assured that their support is making a tangible difference.
From politicians to brands to nonprofits, creating a movement is considered the holy grail of engagement. A movement drives awareness, buzz, and action, seemingly sweeping up everyone in its path. Its origin can be orchestrated or organic. Its demise can be sudden or slow. And, it often inspires imitations. To create one, it’s important to understand the mechanics and the larger role human behavior plays in why some succeed while others fail. It starts with the question: Why do people join movements?
This is the charge most campaigns start with: Let’s get people to join our community! If only it were as simple as that infamous Field of Dreams mantra. While a tagline, an online petition or pledge, and some swag will attract a few faithful followers, movements need more.
Movements require action and many aspiring ones miss the mark by either asking too much or making the action so generic it becomes meaningless. The standard defaults for political or nonprofit campaigns are to sign a petition, volunteer, or send money. Each is critical to sustaining important work but all are easily put off or ignored and can be off-putting to people new to the mission.
Every dollar you donate makes an extraordinary difference. Your support helps families stay together, children persevere, and communities find the hope and power they need to contribute to America.
